  • Community United Against Violence (CUAV) is a 15 year old nonprofit agency which addresses and prevents hate violence directed at lesbians, gay men, bisexuals, and transgender persons. CUAV also provides services to gay men who are battered by their partners. CUAV offers crisis intervention, short term counseling, advocacy with the criminal justice system, support groups, and a 24 hour CrisisLine. In addition to documenting and publicizing anti-lesbian/gay violence. CUAV offers speakers for schools and community groups and safety monitoring for community events. We routinely distribute safety information, and provide whistles and self-defense classes as preventative measures.
